Dr. J is an Indian actor & singer
Belonging to medical family background, he also took up eye surgery as his profession. Popularly known as Dr J, did his schooling from Convent School Pathankot, MBBS from Amritsar, MS EYE from Dehradun. He is a Cataract and Lasik surgeon Centres in North India.
After a successful experience of 8 years in the hospital industry, Dr J entered the Punjabi Music industry in 2020 and launched his first Punjabi Music Video “Ladki Kamaal Ae” produced by Joy Beats. His other popular Punjabi songs are “Kameena” and “Bamb Baby”.
He was always interested in music and singing was always his passion. But he never thought about taking it seriously as a profession. Inspired by famous Punjabi singer and actor, Diljit Dosanjh, Dr J also launched his debut song. He got great support from his family and especially his father.
In his first Punjabi Music video, “Ladki Kamaal Ae”, his wife, Dr Ash, is featuring as his co-star.
Dr J has been around the world and visited many countries like America, Tashkent, Canada, Indonesia, etc. He loves travelling, gyming and singing. Dr J is also very health conscious and prefers healthy food like salad.
The reason behind abbreviating his name from Dr Japtej Singh to Dr JP to finally Dr J is to build curiosity among people and also because it is easier to remember. Not giving up the title of ‘Dr’ he believes that being a Dr is his identity, his achievement and he would like to be known as a Dr always.
Though the medical industry and being an eye surgeon was his first passion, however, he believes that when he entered the music industry he gave his full dedication to it. Dr J says that, no matter what profession you belong to, whatever work you do, do it with full passion and dedication and not just for the sake of doing it. Music industry attracted him because he feels that singing is a way of relaxing and he enjoyed singing.
Dr J has also produced a Punjabi movie named “Sohreyan Da Pind Aa Gaya”, starring Gurnam Bhullar and Sargun Mehta. He also wishes to enter the Punjabi movie industry if given the opportunity. Dr J’s idol in the music industry is Gurdas Maan, an Indian singer, songwriter, choreographer and actor.
Dr J is also setting up a studio in Pathankot, Punjab to provide an opportunity to aspiring and blooming singers, music composers, lyricists, etc. With the intension of promoting budding actors and singers, especially from the local area of in and around Pathankot, Dr J will be producing movies and music albums under the banner of Joy Beats Production house.
